Project partner and history
The PR agency Skills, the Federal Press Service, and the Concordia press club organized a study trip for Egyptian journalists to Austria with Dr. Mohamed-Ali Ibrahim, CEO of PR-Vienna/ PR-Academy.
10 journalists were invited to spend a week in Vienna from September 3rd, 2017.
The project sponsors organize a comprehensive training and further education program including appointments with Austrian media, public facilities, and institutions.
The study trip under the title “Journalism & Democracy” will be the second time this year – after the 2012
carried out. The first project received several national and international awards.

The study tour is organized jointly by the Viennese communications agency The Skills Group (www.skills.at), by
the Austrian Federal Press Service and by the independent Austrian journalist’s club “Presseclub Concordia”.

Study trip: Goal setting
Offer the participants the opportunity to present the work of civil society, political institutions, and selected media. In Austria to get to know how the media world functions, and establish high-end contacts with future decision-makers in the original countries to exchange ideas, know-how, and thoughts. Technical information:
The official study tour program starts every day at appr. 9:00 with departure from the hotel Mercure,
Fleischmarkt, 1010 Vienna, and ends after dinner around 20:00. Food and drinks are provided by the hosts. The
group will be picked up at the hotel and will be accompanied to all meeting locations. All meetings and
presentations will be in English, with Arabic translation available for complicated issues and
emergencies. Saturday, 2.9.2017, morning till 12.30 (departure to the airport), is free for shopping, an individual
museum visit or other individual arrangements, etc.
A more detailed version and the exact timetable will be presented to the participants upon arrival in Vienna.

Study trips / Target group/selection criteria:
Candidates of the PR & Journalism world working in independent media, and or PR agencies/departments, etc., or University students of the PR & Journalism disciplines and/or economic issues Publish article editors Manager or “high potentials” persons familiar with their publications in the “Arab Spring” a played decisive role Proof: For the application must have at least five Articles from the last 12 months are provided. The aim is as even a gender distribution as possible. Knowledge of English is a prerequisite (working language). Valid travel documents are required
